"stay calm and throw mud"
Creating a unique piece of pottery out of mud is a joy, getting lost in the moment, forgetting the time of day or night, only stopping to eat because you have to, so you don't fall over.
Hi, my name is Vicki Bailey my passions are pottery and gardening luckily I am able to pursue both. I use stoneware clay for my pieces, make my own glazes and slips. I've made a range of handmade stamps for |
decoration so every piece is unique.
Most of my work is a one off piece so you won't run into anyone wearing the same pendant or string of beads. The Wind Chimes and Garden Bells in your garden will only be found in your garden I fire all pieces in a gas kiln to about 1260C reduction and oxidation with some amazing results and some not so amazing but all interesting. Any potter will tell you that opening the Kiln is like being a kid again on Xmas morning excited to find out how everything has turned out, taking a finished piece out of the kiln turning it around and around in your hands feeling and admiring, sometimes not quite what you expected but nice all the same. If you are interested in my work please contact me. Vicki |
